KRISHNA - GOLDEN BEE, 2024
KRISHNA takes Andrew's classic Bee brooch and gives it an Indian twist. It was created in 2024.
This unusual design will add intrigue and interest to every outfit.
Andrew's bee brooches are one of his most popular designs - exceedingly wearable with their light weight and small scale.
Andrew has placed a small metal Krishna charm at the top of the brooch - to which he has added much glitter - forming the bee's head. The body of the bee has been created using fragments of black and orange glass. At the bottom of the piece, Andrew has placed another charm, adding more glass and crystal beads. The wings of the bee are made of mirror.
All of these elements are set into white resin, which has been coated with gold leaf and sprinkled with black glitter. The back of the brooch bears the title of the piece, signed and dated by Andrew.
The piece has the feel of a talisman or charm, and is part of a new Wearable Art collection of Goddess pieces, referencing Andrew's 1984 Goddesses exhibition, and celebrating Alternative Miss World 2026 - GAIA.
This unique brooch measures approximately 7 by 7 cm at its widest points and weighs 16g. It can be attached to your chosen garment using a gold coloured safety pin embedded in the resin on the reverse.
This piece of wearable art has been joyfully created with love by artist Andrew Logan in his studio in Mid-Wales. This brooch will be packaged in a gift box and sent to you via Special Delivery.
