EXPLODE, 2024

EXPLODE is an Indian-inspired Wearable Art piece, created by Andrew Logan in 2024.

This piece will add a touch of glamour and a sense of occasion to every outfit.

Andrew has placed an unusual piece of Indian decorative textiles at the centre of this piece. Woven gold sequins fan out into a flock of peacock feathers, which have been framed in Andrew's signature mosaic-style with golden fragments of glass.

Below this, Andrew has placed two shards of rich blue and gold glass, and hung two peacock blue beads from the tip of the piece, which move freely, adding some dynamism to the piece.

The piece has the feel of a talisman or charm, and is part of a new Wearable Art collection of Goddess pieces, referencing Andrew's 1984 Goddesses exhibition, and celebrating Alternative Miss World 2026 - GAIA.

All of these elements have been set into black resin, which has been sprinkled with gold and blue glitter. The back of the brooch bears the title of the piece, and is signed and dated by Andrew.

This unique brooch measures approximately 15 by 10 cm at its widest points and weighs 39g.  It can be attached to your chosen garment using a gold coloured safety pin embedded in the resin on the reverse.

This Wearable Cosmic Egg has been joyfully created by artist Andrew Logan in his studio in Mid-Wales. This brooch will be packaged in a gift box and sent to you via Special Delivery.
