Andrew Logan created the sculpture, named Fate & The Hippo, in 2015.  It was originally exhibited at the Marsden Woo Gallery within an Exhibition named, 'Many a Sip,' curated by Alison Britton where artists were invited to juggle with the domestic symbol of 'the cup.'  It has been part of Andrew Logan's archival collection and was recently displayed at the Museum of Sculpture in Berriew.  Andrew Logan now has pleasure in releasing this joyful sculpture for sale.

The sculpture uses Andrew's signature technique of mosaic mirror inlaid into resin to create a sparkling and reflective object d'art.  The cup and saucer both strongly feature small, cream dominoes, arranged as an actual game of chance with the resin edges encrusted with predominantly black glitter with the addition of some multi-coloured flecks.  The inside of the cup features a friendly looking hippo, looking up from his pool of mirror fragments and dominoes.  The cup handle is decorated with numerous clear crystals, shaped as spheres, flowers and cubes.  Three pieces of mirror are etched with Andrew Logan's signature, the date and 'Fate' on the outside of the cup and again on a circular disc of mirror on the bottom side of the saucer.

Andrew Logan is a British sculptural artist who crosses cultures and embodies artistic fantasy in a unique and unprecedented way. He’s considered one of Britain's influential artists of international stature, he enjoys creating intimate small-scale work,  in addition to larger public art works for which he is known for.

The total height of the cup and saucer sculpture is approximately 10 cm

The saucer has a diameter of around 20 cm  and the sculpture weighs 1.534 kg

Due to the high value, weight and delicate nature of the sculpture it requires specialist shipping. A trackable, signed-for delivery within the UK will cost in the region of £16, however, if the sculpture is collected from Berriew, or a cheaper delivery alternative becomes available, a refund will be offered for postage and packaging. International shipping will be calculated on an individual basis.
