ORIGINAL WATERCOLOUR OF PLANTS BEHIND BARS - BY ANDREW LOGAN 1992
Andrew Logan painted this watercolour on 26th May in 1992, when he visited at John and Joan Menkes’s house in Beverly Hills. He was struck by the contrast of the orange walls, dark window bars and vibrant garden foliage, so captured the scene in watercolours. The house belonged to Andrew’s friends Joan Simon Menkes, artist and her husband, Dr John H Menkes, paediatric neurologist, novelist and playwright. John and Joan became trustees for the Andrew Logan Museum of Sculpture and there is a stained glass window dedicated to Joan within the gallery, however, sadly both John and Joan are no longer with us.
The painting has been created in watercolour on quality art paper with approximate dimensions of 10 x 14 inches, or 25.5 x 35.5 cm. It has been titled, signed and dated by Andrew Logan and is a certified original which should not be copied without Andrew Logan’s written permission. The portrait-orientated watercolour is mounted on art board but supplied without a mount. It will be securely packaged as a flat parcel and posted using tracked delivery.
